When
you think of a "Santa Fe Home," one tends to think
of catus, desert, sand and a home with a flat roof, brownish
red stucco walls. This is also called the "adobe pueblo"
look. It is a very popular style of home building in New Mexico.
This
Classic look has been around for a few thousand years and
it is just one part of the many different "styles"
of homes you will find in New Mexico. Adobe is an excellent
building material, and can entertain a wide variety of interior
design choices including flagstone floors and viga (beamed)
ceilings. Adobe is also a very efficient building material
as it keeps homes "cool" in the summer and is "warmer"
in winter as it retains the warm air better.

Another classic look is the "Northern New Mexico"
style which has a more contemporary look with it's pitch roof
design. This style can be built on top of an adobe home, or
it can be a classic frame style home with traditional building
materials used for the walls and floors. Northern New Mexico
style homes are typically found in the foothills and mountains,
but where zoning permits, you can find a pitched-roof contemporary
home will fit nicely just about anywhere.
At Life-Style Homes, we can build you a beautiful adobe home,
or a classic northern New Mexico style home. If you're thinking
about building a new home...we'd certainly like to help you
build the home of your dreams
